Wednesday Dec 22, 2021
Wednesday Dec 22, 2021
Horses come in all sizes. From our tallest and heaviest draft horses, all the way down to our smallest miniature horses. It does beg the question, do I feed a miniature horse similar to my taller riding horse? In this week's podcast we answer that question and more. Much of the advice and tips we give can also apply to ponies and other small horse types. Generally, you do feed miniature horses similar to their larger cousins, you just scale everything down for their size. We also do mention that the equation used estimating a miniature horse's weight is different from taller horses and is: (multiply 9.36 x heart girth measurement) plus (multiply 5 x body length measurement) and then subtract 348.5
